Doris Lea Thompson (nee Shiverdecker), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Calvin “Charlie” Thompson; cherished daughter of the late William and Susie Shiverdecker; devoted mother of Christopher (Cheri) Thompson, Kimberly (Mike) Butts and Scott Thompson; loving grandmother of Kaitlyn (Jonathan) Ukele and Austin Thompson; dear sister of James (Pat) Shiverdecker, Nathan (Karen) Shiverdecker, Sterling (Debbie) Shiverdecker, Edward Shiverdecker, the late Ralph (Judith survives) Shiverdecker, the late William Shiverdecker and the late Bessie Kay Shiverdecker. 

Doris left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She had a passion for shopping and a keen eye for beautiful things. She was an extraordinary baker and cook, delighting her family and friends with homemade meals, breads and cookies that were made with love and care.

Doris's love for travel took her on many adventures, with Branson, MO, holding a special place in her heart in her later years. She had a remarkable ability to spoil her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, showering them with affection and joy. Her bond with her daughter was deep and enduring, and they shared countless cherished moments traveling, dining out and shopping together.

Her quick wit and compassionate nature made Doris a beloved figure to all who knew her. Always concerned for the well-being of her youngest son, family and others, she was a pillar of support and kindness. Independent and full of fun, she had a unique charm that drew people to her effortlessly.

Music was another of Doris's loves, with country tunes and 60's hits, filling her life with rhythm and joy. Her vibrant personality and heartfelt care for her family and friends will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Doris Thompson's life was a testament to love, independence, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. Her legacy will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of many for years to come.
