Donald “Don” Soehngen, of Maryland Heights, MO, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by his loving wife Agnes Soehngen (nee Nelle), parents Lawrence C. Soehngen Sr. and Josephine Soehngen (nee Wiener), and brother Lawrence C. Soehngen Jr. He is survived by his children Jane (Mark) Theisssen, Suzanne (James) Hayden, Robert (Nanette) Soehngen, Elizabeth Liess, Thomas Soehngen (Linda-Lea Chatelain), and Anne (Scott) Sutton; cherished grandchildren Alex (Melissa) Hayden, Andrew (Jamie) Hayden, Anna (Cody) Robinson, Ian Liess (Chelsea Viau), Jack Murphy Liess (Bri Whitsett), Laura Soehngen (Asha Nelson), Matthew Soehngen, Geoffrey Fegan, Michael Fegan, and Spencer Fegan; and eleven treasured great-grandchildren.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Army and went on to enjoy a 37-year career as an Electrical Engineer at McDonnell Douglas. Known for his quiet strength and dry sense of wit and humor, Don was a devoted family man and a dedicated worker. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, spending time on his computer, following professional football, including managing his fantasy team, G’paws Grizzleys. Don prioritized family and friends above all, and lived a humble life rooted in loyalty, love, and laughter. Don was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Memorials may be made in Don's name to the American Heart Association.
