It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Donald Pierson, who was called home to God on November 12, 2023, at the age of 86.
Donald was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Veronica (Ostertag) for 61 years, and a cherished father to five daughters and one son. Denise (Daniel) Roth, Cathy (Damian) Yanez, Elaine (Daniel) Maupin, Diane (Thomas) Lentz, Katy (Vincent) Davis and Christopher (Erica) Pierson.
Treasured grandfather of Brian (Laura), Benjamin (Erin), Nicholas and Adam Roth, Rachel (Mark) Horne, Laura (Alberto) Juarez, Jacob and Serena Yanez, Miabella and Daniel Riazi, Caden Maupin, Tommy (Carissa), Sarah and Olivia (Richie) Lentz, Luke (Rana), Grace, Alexandria, Pierson and Tobias Davis. Proud Great grandfather to Henry and Evelyn Roth, Scarlett and Natalie Horne, Maria Fernanda, David and Sebastien Juarez. He was a respected brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend.
Donald was preceded in death by his dear mother and father, Virginia Dickens and James Pierson.
Donald was a dedicated provider with an admirable work ethic, starting his career at Orchard Paper Company/Boise Cascade and retiring from Sonoco Graham after 40 years. He served in Army Reserves and attended Washington University. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and corvette enthusiast, and he enjoyed piddling around the house and yard. Most importantly, Donald always put his family first and loved them with his whole heart. In honor of his memory, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children in lieu of flowers.
