Donald Anthony Fiala passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, at his home in O’Fallon, MO, at the age of 92.
Don was born on December 3, 1932, to the late Mildred (née Schick) and Jacob Fiala. He grew up in a small family home in St. Louis, MO, alongside his surviving brother, Tom (Angie); and his late sisters, Shirley, Mary Ann, and brother, Jacob.
Don was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend—always known for his wit, hard work, and generosity. He was the beloved husband of Dolores Fiala (née Borgschulte), with whom he shared 70 wonderful years. He was the devoted father of Jim (Sharon), Joe (Jean), Christine (Allen), Tom (Sue), and Steve (Sandy); a loving Papa to April (Chris), Teresa, Gina, Nick, Elizabeth, Joseph (Hillary), Katie (Adam), Andrew (Codi), Grace, and Anthony; and a warm-hearted great-grandpa to Gabby, Sophia, Gavin, Olivia, Jessica, Nate, Paisley, Lila, and Finley.
Throughout his life, Don worked proudly as a lab technician at Anheuser-Busch Brewery, retiring after 42 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Cardinals, visiting the casino, traveling on cruise ships, and—most of all—spending time with his family and friends. He loved bragging about his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7701 State Route N, Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368. A Mass will be celebrated shortly after, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Immaculate Conception Dardenne.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His love, selflessness, and legacy will live on forever in our hearts.
