Donald “Don” Merritt

Donald "Don" Merritt, of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the age of 87. Don was the loving husband of Sandra Merritt (nee: Wulfers); beloved son of the late Rose Edwin and Mary Delores Merritt; devoted father of Donald S. Merritt, Jr., Gerald "Steven" (Karen) Merritt, Robert E. Merritt, and Stacey (Tom Burrows) Wright; cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Anita Brewer and Genoven Whistler; and brother, Robert E. Merritt. Don was an aircraft inspector at McDonnell Douglas, for 35 years, whose hobbies included toy trains and making stained glass windows at church. Memorials may be made to Grace United Church of Christ.
