Shane Kuykendall

Dennis Shane Kuykendall, 54, of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Affectionately called Shane, was born to Paul “Dennis” and Shannon Kuykendall on September 14, 1970, in Urbana, IL.

Shane married Julie O’Brien in Jamacia on October 5, 1996, while their lives took them down different paths after spending over 25 years together, they remained close until the end.

Shane held many titles in his life, son, brother, companion, friend, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his son, Drew. He was always there for him, whether he was helping him with school, cheering him on at his sports games, making life decisions, or supporting his new adventures of traveling/living abroad. Drew was the true light of his life, and he loved him unconditionally.

Shane is survived by his son, Drew Kuykendall, parents, Dennis and Shannon Kuykendall, sister, Tara (Gregory) Baltimore, brother, Brandon (Kim) Kuykendall, and Julie Kuykendall, nieces: Korren, Jennah, and Alexandra Baltimore, Jaelyn Kuykendall; nephew: Christien Kuykendall, great-niece, Jayden Baltimore, great-nephews, Kei’Von Jr. and Kyro Evans, and Teaghan Gardner. Special Friend, Cheri Hosea and many other family and friends.

Shane was an organ and tissue donor and able to save 70 lives, provide a child with a heart value, and give two people sight again with his corneas. Not only was he special to all of us in life, but he also provided the gift of living for others.

A Celebration of Life honoring Shane will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bear Creek Golf Club, located at 158 Bear Creek Drive, Wentzville, Missouri 63385. Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering and celebrating Shane.
