Denise Lay

Denise Lay of Lake St. Louis, MO passed away Sunday, May 25th, 2025 at the age of 62. Denise was born February 26th, 1963, in Ipswich, Massachusetts. She was the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Rita Willson; beloved fiancée of Steve Travis; devoted mother of Johnny Jr. (Rebekah), Sarah, Rachel (Austin), Katelyn and Samuel; Loving Grandmother of Myka and Adrielle; treasured sister of Michael (Deborah), James (Mindy), and Eric. Denise was also a loving aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Denise was a kind, loving woman whose life was built on strong faith and deep love for her family. Denise had a strong love of bowling, especially with her “girls” every Wednesday. Denise also had a love for the outdoors, looking at nature, seeing flowers at the botanical gardens, and fishing. She loved anything that got her family together, especially when she got to see her grandchildren. Denise also had a deep love for lighthouses or New England in general, especially a good lobster roll. She was also a very proud graduate of her alma mater Mizzou and has worked in the science field as a Histotech for over 35 years. Denise was of Catholic faith and a member of the Saint Peters Catholic Church in Saint Charles. Denise was admired by family, friends, and coworkers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
