Deborah Suzanne Rowand

Deborah Suzanne Rowand (nee Nagy), of Florissant, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the age of 67. Beloved wife of Barry S. Rowand; cherished daughter of the late Jane Aleta Nagy; dear sister of Diane (Herman) Schermer; sister-in-law of Marsha (Max) Stella; and her precious dog, Teddy.

Debbie was born on March 26, 1959 in New York City but grew up in Decatur, Illinois. She was a 1977 graduate of Eisenhower High School. Debbie owned a nail salon for several years in Decatur before moving to West Palm Beach, FL in 1987. There she spent many years with her loving husband, Barry, whom she married on Feb. 8, 1991. She worked as a title clerk at the Lexus/Mercedes dealership while in Floria. Debbie and Barry moved to the St. Louis area in 2000 to be closer to family and to help with Debbie’s ailing mother.

Debbie enjoyed gardening, decorating, Bingo, going to the theater and out to dinner, and dogs. But Debbie mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Debbie had a very caring heart and was always the first to offer help and comfort to a friend. She had an amazing spirit and loved talking to people. She never met a stranger, and shined a bright light on everyone she interacted with. Her happiest place was the beach and ocean and she and Barry went there often.

Memorials may be made in Debbie's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
