Dean McAlexander

Dean F. McAlexander, 70, of Saint Charles, MO, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 19, 2026 after a lengthy battle with heart disease.

He was born on July 22, 1955, in Springfield, IL. He worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone for 31 years. He loved his doggies and had many beloved pets throughout his life. He enjoyed rock and roll music and owned his own internet business in retirement selling CDs worldwide. He enjoyed attending concerts and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Esther McAlexander (nee Kassel); son, Jason (Andrea) of Springfield; grandchildren, Shaylie (Taz) of Kirksville, MO, and Randy of Springfield, IL; brother, James (Avis) McAlexander, and sister Jayne McAlexander, both of Springfield, IL; Nephew Chris McAlexander and niece, Jayne Ann (Dusty) McAlexander. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty McAlexander.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dean’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Immanuel Lutheran Comfort Dog Ministry, and the American Heart Association.
