Dawn Marie Cox

March 20, 1948 — November 22, 2021

Dawn Marie Cox (nee Owens), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Roland Ray Cox; cherished daughter of the late Raymond D. Owens and Mildred Catherine Bohns. Devoted mother of Kimberly Shipley, Amanda (John) Marks, and Kevin Cox; loving grandmother of River Zakariasen, Justin Shipley, Samantha Shipley, and Jaxsyn Cox; treasured great grandmother of the late Xamira Shipley; dear sister of Dennis (Marca) R. Owens, Raelene (Tom) Schwartz, Robert (Janie) Owens, and Paul (Lana) Kruse.

Dawn met Roland in grade school and admired him through high school. They married when he returned from his service in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and raised their 3 children in St. Charles. Dawn worked as a nurse's aide for Lutheran Senior Services for 19 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, and gardening. Dawn loved canning tomatoes, hot peppers, and other homegrown goodies from her garden. Dawn and Roland also spent as much time as they could boating and being on the water. She had dogs her whole life and always spoiled them. Dawn was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Dawn's name to American Cancer Society
