Dawn Renee Chartrand

Dawn Renee Chartrand (nee DeWinter), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 71. Beloved wife of 43 years to Joe Chartrand; cherished daughter of the late Carol and Richard DeWinter; devoted mother of Rachel (Joe) Faltus and Josh (Nicole) Chartrand; loving Mimi of Sydney Faltus and Lincoln Faltus; dear sister of Dennis (Patricia) DeWinter, David (Lynn) DeWinter, Daryl DeWinter, Darcy (Mark) Quartel, and the late Doug DeWinter; treasured aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

Dawn proudly served in the United States Navy, where she was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. After the Navy, Dawn worked as a medical transcriptionist at several hospitals before later dedicating herself fully to her family. She treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren, whose love was the center of her life. Dawn found happiness in life's simple pleasures—shopping, chocolate, a good cup of coffee, and always including a touch of purple in her style.

Known for her kind heart and unwavering positivity, Dawn faced life's trials with remarkable strength and grace. She believed that one of the greatest gifts a person could give was simply showing up for those they loved. Whether supporting family, encouraging friends, or attending community events, she was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her compassion knew no strangers, and her genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Dawn will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
