David Roy Proost

David Roy Proost, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Beverly J. Proost; cherished son of the late Anne and Elroy Proost; devoted father of Michael D. (Janet) Proost and Mark S. Proost; loving grandfather of Amanda (Taylor) Gruenloh, Ashley (Chris) Meredith, Samantha (Jeremy) Belsher, and Mitchell Proost; treasured great grandfather of Ava, Aubreigh, Vaida, Ian, and Owen; dear brother of the late Robert (Louise) Proost, the late Richard Proost, and the late Mary Ann (Fran) Martin.

David proudly and honorably served in the United States Army and went on to work as a graphic artist for Boeing for 25 years before later joining Mel Bay Music. He was an active member of Ferguson’s Landmarks Commission, helping to recognize historic homes with commemorative plaques. Following in his father’s footsteps, David cleared the ground on Elizabeth Avenue so the neighborhood boys could play soccer, an effort that became the foundation of the CYC Soccer organization. He also enjoyed coaching soccer for the boys at Sts. John and James School in Ferguson, MO. David was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in David's name to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Grade School in Ferguson, MO. or the Alzheimer's Association.
