David Lee Mayfield

David Lee Mayfield, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, in his home at the age of 60. Beloved husband to Peggy Mayfield (Starr) for 32 years; cherished son of the late Paul Wade and Mickey Emogene Mayfield; devoted father to Jesse (Sarah Kennedy) Mayfield, Katie (Joe) Cento and loving grandfather of Sophia Cento; dear brother to Debbie Wipfler and Scott (Perla) Mayfield.  David is also survived and cherished by his extended Starr family. He was a treasured uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend.

David worked at McDonnel Douglas/Boeing in many positions for over 30 years.  He started working in the mail room as a high school graduate then advanced in the Aerospace industry after receiving his MBA from Lindenwood University to Director’s level Program management and business development positions. After his retirement from Boeing, he resumed working at several machining companies: Patriot Machine, Plymouth Tube Co, Tech Manufacturing/ Addman Company. David developed a large network of people in his career. He was a mentor in and out of the office and loved to empower others and watch people grow.

David was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He had a passion for life, a strong faith in God and love for family. He found joy in sharing his hobbies of fishing & golf with his family and friends. David loved travelling for work and for family vacations, but his favorite spot was enjoying time at his second home in the Lake of the Ozarks. At the lake, you could often find him with a cocktail and cigar in hand, fishing a tournament or two but never missing a Cardinal or Blues game. David truly embraced life and knew how to have fun. He will be remembered for an outgoing personality, making anyone smile, and always putting others before himself. David was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
