David Eugene "Gene" Hampton

David Eugene “Gene” Hampton, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 71 years to Bonna Lea Hampton; cherished son of he late Osmar and Delphi Hampton; devoted father of Rick (Lisa) Hampton and Mitch (Kim) Hampton; loving grandfather of Zach (Amy), Alyssa, Brent, Dustin, Amber (Brian) and Kaitlin (Zack); treasured great-grandfather of Hudson, Cole, Beau, Cambria, Barrett, Rylan, Peyton and Landon; great-great grandfather of Lucelia Mae; dear brother of Ann Vanguilder; beloved brother, uncle and friend to many.

Gene proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Fairmont General Baptist Church in St. Peters, where he faithfully volunteered and taught Sunday School for many years. Above all, Gene was devoted to his family, cherishing every moment spent with those he loved. His kindness, faith, and unwavering love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Gene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Memorials may be made in Gene's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
