David Cooke

St. Peters, Missouri

David R. Cooke, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Cecelia Cooke; cherished son of the late David and Mabel Cooke; dear brother of Jacqueline Allen, the late Jeanette (Bill) Wilson and Janie (Ron) Land; brother-in-law of Cecil Roy Berry, Jr. and the late Susan Kay (Bob) Hardgrave; beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many.

David proudly and honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed basic training at Fort Hood, Texas, and was later stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. On September 19, 1966, he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, Bravo Company, 69th Armor Regiment. He returned home on September 11, 1968.

Following his military service, David went to work at Alco Controls, where he dedicated 35 years as a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Lodge 1345. During this time, he also served in the Army Reserve for 10 years in Washington, Missouri.

In his free time, David enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle and working on his fully restored 1955 Chevrolet.

David was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in David's name to Five Acres Humane Society of St. Charles or The St Louis Zoo.
