Danny Brown

Danny Lee Brown, of Portage Des Sioux, MO, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the age of 68. He was united in marriage to Mary, his beloved wife of 27 years, on October 5, 1996; cherished son of the late William "Bill" (Agnes) Brown and Gretchen E. (Bob) Burkey, and the late Shirley Prince, who provided guidance, love, and support throughout his life. Dear brother of the late Diana Elizabeth (survived by Ron) Miller, the late Michelle Marie (survived by Truman) Wallenmeyer, and Floyd Randall "Randy" (Barbara Jean "BJ") Brown; brother-in-law of Robert (Tina) Vehige; loving uncle of Stephanie Nichols, Hayley (Derek) Lombard, Ethan (Amber) Miller, Amanda (Tony) Reel, Lucas Robb, Caleb (Katie) Robb, Megan (Anthony) McCarty, Whitney (Josh) Distler, Clarissa Brown (Joseph), and Amber (John) Spatz; many beloved great-nieces and nephews. 

Danny proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2017 from St. Charles County Highway Department where he was employed for over 25 years. He was a member of the Freemasons, Loyal Order of the Squirrels, Shriners International, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Danny was very hardworking, had a generous heart, enjoyed helping others, and loved his pets. He was an avid rifleman and reloader who loved the outdoors, particularly deer and fish camp with the guys. He liked growing vegetables and sharing them with his neighbors. In his free time, he loved watching old westerns and spending time with friends and family. Danny was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
