Daniel Joseph Gamblin, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of the late Judy Sharon Gamblin (née Payne); cherished son of the late Verner C. Gamblin and Hilda L. Guethle; and devoted father of Debra Maria (Doug) Morris and Julie Ann (Edward) Fingers. He was the proud grandfather of Sarah (Alex) Marey, Kevin Morris, Hunter Tosto, and Kaiden Tosto; and a treasured uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his sisters, Donnis Reidy and Janice Hall.
Born on December 26, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Daniel graduated from Rankin Technical College and worked as a skilled auto mechanic for Ackerman Buick, dedicating 38 years to his profession. On October 12, 1963, he married the love of his life, Judy, and together they built a life centered on family, love, and shared adventures.
Daniel had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed strawberry ice cream, woodworking, and being outdoors. He loved trains, birdwatching, car racing, wrestling, and spending time with his dogs. He especially enjoyed traveling—most notably to Alaska—where he and Judy made lasting memories. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends. Known for his kindness and warmth, Dan was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Memorials may be made in Daniel's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
