Memorials may be made to Leukemia Society. Daniel Cogswell Roberts II, 88, O'Fallon, MO, passed away May 12, 2008 at Mount Carmel Senior Care. He was born July 14, 1919 in Peoria, Illinois. He was an advertising and trade show management executive in the St. Louis area for 30 years, having worked for Bemis Bag, Gardner Advertising, the Catholic Hospital Association, and Professional Associates. In 1978 he moved to Port Charlotte, Florida from Kirkwood, Missouri. After moving to Florida he became active in yacht brokerage and volunteer work in alcohol rehabilitation. He returned to Missouri in 2000 to retirement in O'Fallon. In World War II he was an officer in the Army Signal Corps, serving with SHAEF Headquarters Command in the Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns. He also served with IX Corps for two campaigns on the central front in the Korean War. He attended the University of Maine and graduated cum laude from Babson College. He was an avid sailing enthusiast for over sixty years, and a past officer and member of several yacht clubs, as well as the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and U.S. Power Squadrons. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marilyn (Meyers), two sons, Michael C. (Laura) Roberts of St. Charles, Missouri, and Peter W. (Pamela) Roberts of Plano, Texas; and four grandchildren, Kathryn, Kevin, Michael, and Stephen.
