Daniel G. “Dan” Brauch, Sr., of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the age of 87 Years. Loving husband of 66 years to Norma Jean Brauch; beloved son of the late Benjamin J. and Carrie Brauch; devoted father of Daniel G. (Deborah) Brauch Jr. and Donald (Virginia) Brauch; cherished grandfather of Samantha (Derek) Schaefer, Sara (Donnie) Cox, and Mathew Brauch; treasured great-grandfather of Parker Schaefer, Evelyn Schaefer, Valerie Cox, and James Cox; dear brother of Nancy Harper, and Judy Workman. Daniel was also preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel G. Brauch, III; and his siblings, Jean Anderson, Eileen Patterson, Benjamin Brauch, Robert Brauch, and Gary Brauch.
Dan was a Chief Flight Instructor, corporate pilot, and an FAA Flight instructor. He loved flying and teaching others about flying. He owned St. Charles Airport for many years and owned many planes throughout his life. He was a member of the Shriners Air Patrol and transported many burn victims to various Shriners Hospital during his career.
As an avid outdoor sportsman, Dan specially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Gateway Gun Club and enjoyed skeet shooting as well. He was also a Mason for more than 50 years.
Daniel loved his family, and his grandchildren were everything to him. He always looked forward to spending time with family and taking them flying, hunting, fishing, and trips to the cabin. He loved going to their timeshare in Branson and spending time with family. He also enjoyed taking trips to visit his son in Texas and go hunting. He also raised beagles and pointers for hunting and always had hunting dogs.
Daniel was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in Daniel's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
