Cynthia Lee Kottmeier

April 18, 1961 — July 11, 2025

Saint Louis, Missouri

Cynthia Lee Kottmeier (nee Shoults), of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at the age of 64. Beloved wife of Robert Edward Kottmeier; cherished daughter of Erma Louise Shoults and the late Denver Lee Shoults; devoted mother of Michael James (Kathryn) Kottmeier, Rae Kristen (Paul McCormac) Kottmeier, and Jacob Daniel (Sarah Jane Wirkkala) Kottmeier; loving grandmother of Juniper Rae Kottmeier, Arthur James Kottmeier, and Aurora Jean Kottmeier; dear sister of Steven Paul (Alissa Marie) Shoults, the late Douglas Lee (Ronda) Shoults; beloved daughter-in-law of the late Barbara Mildred and Harold Edward Kottmeier; loving aunt, cousin, and a friend to many.

Cynthia had a deep love for music and was a devoted fan of The Beatles, Billy Idol, and Lady Gaga. She enjoyed shopping, reading—especially in her younger days—and loved being out and about, particularly going out to eat and doing various things. A talented photographer, she had a special gift for capturing people in her pictures. Cynthia adored animals, cherished holidays, and had a large unique collection of Kewpie Dolls. Generous to a fault, she loved giving gifts and did so even if you asked her not to—gift-giving was one of her love languages. She deeply loved her husband, children, and mother, but nothing brought her more joy than being “Grandma Cindy.” Cindy and her mom had a strong, inseparable bond, connecting every day and spending cherished time together. Cynthia shared a 50-year love story with Bob, the love of her life, whom she met back in junior high. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
