Clyde Lynn "Shorty" Lowrey passed away unexpectedly after experiencing a sudden medical complication on Monday, July 13, 2026.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce Lowrey. High school sweethearts, Clyde and Joyce shared more than 60 years of unconditional love, devotion, and partnership. Their enduring love was evident to everyone who knew them.
Clyde was the loving father of daughter Robbin Lowrey Willis and her husband, Johnny Willis, and son Corbin Lowrey. He was a wonderful father who was always just a phone call away.
He was the proud grandfather of Brittany McIntyre and her husband, Sean McIntyre, and Jake Willis and his fiancée, Allison Alderman. He was also the cherished great-grandfather of Cameron and Rylee McIntyre.
Known as "Papa" since August 1993, Clyde treasured that title above all others. He was immensely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Just ask him about them, and he would gladly share a silly story, a recent accomplishment, or a favorite photo.
Clyde devoted his life to loving his family deeply, showing compassion to those in need, and bringing laughter to everyone around him. His kindness, generous heart, and quirky sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Although Clyde was only one semester away from earning his teaching degree, life led him down a different path. His love for children, however, never wavered. He dedicated thousands of volunteer hours over 30+ years to rocking babies in the NICU and spending time with children receiving treatment in the hospital's pediatric wing. Outside of his family, he was most proud of the time he spent comforting those babies and children. While he received several awards recognizing his volunteer service, the true reward for Clyde was simply being able to help others.
Clyde will be remembered for his unwavering love, his servant's heart, his infectious laughter, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to one of the organizations that meant so much to Clyde. He would be overjoyed to know that others were continuing to support causes he loved.
Clyde's legacy of love, service, and generosity will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
