Clifford "Cliff" W. Wilson

Clifford Wilson passed away on June 29, 2026. Cliff was born August 17, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, Elbert Earl Wilson and Liola Lynn (Harmon) Wilson. He was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Adams) Wilson.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Wilson) and husband, Brad Cervenka, their children Tim Cervenka and Angie (Cervenka) and husband, Tommy Chapman along with their children, Avery and Ella; his daughter Karen (Wilson) and her husband, Jim Joerling, their son, Brett and his wife, Jackie Logan along with their children, Mary and Eleanor; their son, Chris Logan and Becky Aiello, and their children, Emmalyn, Roman and Max; his niece Sandy (Dieckgrafe) and husband, Don Peterson and their daughters, Kim and Kerry; his nephew Roger Dieckgrafe and his wife Carol; step grandchildren, Tim Joerling and Danielle (Joerling) and husband, Josh Ware and their children.

Preceded in death by his brother, Earl and wife, Mary (Fitzgerald) Wilson, who are survived by their children Linda and Steve and their children.

Cliff met his future wife Jean while working at a gas station and he was married at the age of 17 to Jean, who was 21. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an airplane mechanic at age of 17 prior to marrying Jean. After his time in the Army, he got a job as a fireman on the CB&Q Railroad. Eventually, after getting his GED and completing some college courses, he was promoted to Road Foreman. He and Jean moved to Chicago, Illinois; Alliance, Nebraska; Gillette, Wyoming; and McCook, Nebraska before retiring in St. Peters, Missouri at the age of 58. He and Jean settled in Saint Peters to enjoy their family and grandchildren. After Jean’s passing, Cliff lived alone until the age of 99 when a fall sent him to a nursing home where he eventually died peacefully with his family at his bedside.

Besides his busy life, taking grandkids to their functions, Cliff loved fishing, gardening, and attending shows at the Repertory Theater. He loved taking his family to dinner at Erio’s as well as eating chicken wings at Culpeppers. He and Jean attended many Mizzou football games with their season tickets in the prime seats.

Cliff was a 32-degree Mason and Shriner and attended meetings until he was in his 80’s.

His favorite thing was sharing many stories about his time on the railroad and one of his fondest memories of taking a trip on the Honor Flight to Washington DC.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved Him. He will forever be in the hearts of his family.

Memorials may be made in Cliff’s name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
