Cleo L. Ellinger

Cleo L. Ellinger (nee Knofler), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late Harold E. Ellinger; cherished daughter of the late Frank and Ellen Knofler. Devoted mother of Vicki Smith.

Cleo cherished her six grandchildren and one more she considered a bonus. She was a wonderful grandma and even a great-great grandma. Her children and grandchildren were always her top priority. As the youngest of nine siblings, Cleo developed a resilient spirit, especially growing up on a Nebraska farm during the Great Depression. She was deeply passionate about her church and actively participated in the ladies' groups. Cleo loved volunteering and helping others. She was always on the go, skillfully balancing her roles as a mother, volunteer, church member, and consummate professional. Cleo was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
