Clarita R. Schmittling

Clarita R. Schmittling (nee: Schiermeyer), of O’Fallon, MO, died on Friday, April 14, 2017, at the age of 79. She was the loving wife of the late Paul J. Schmittling; beloved daughter of the late Albert R. and Clarita L. Schiermeyer; devoted mother of Barbara S. (Tom) Mennemeier, Paul F. Schmittling, Daniel J. Schmittling, Stephen G. Schmittling, Mary E. Moughton, and Cecilia A. Schweig; cherished grandmother of John (Nikki) Schmittling, Jaimes (Jennifer) Schmittling, Corey (Brittany) Schweig, Jacob Schmittling, Alexandra Schweig, Cary Schmittling, William Moughton, Kate Schweig, Avery Mann, and Asher Hastings; treasured great-grandmother of Cole Schmittling, Dane Schmittling, and Gwenyth Schmittling; loving sister of Sue A. (Jim) Dillow, Albert W. Schiermeyer, and John G. Schiermeyer; and dear sister-in-law of Jean Schwartz, Cletus Schmittling, and Raymond Schmittling. She was preceded in death by her brother, William J. Schiermeyer; two sisters, Carole A. Schmittling and Patricia T. Kirby; and her great-grandchildren, Dane Gerald and the Schmittling Twins.

Clarita devoted her life to caring for her husband and children and took pride in cooking, baking, and sewing for her family. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially when it involved playing games such as dominos, rummy, war, and bingo. Most of all, Clarita cherished every moment spent with her sweet grandchildren. She will truly be missed by every person who was lucky enough to be loved by her.
