Swarthout (nee: Kavanagh); devoted father of Clarence E. Swarthout, Jr. (Mary) and Pamela Ryan (Dan); beloved grandfather of Melissa Sanson (Devin), Jennifer Galantowicz (Gavin), Timothy Ryan (Amy) and John Michael Swarthout; great-grandfather of Abigail and Andrew Galantowicz; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward H. and Barbara Swarthout, brothers, Edward and James Swarthout. Mr. Swarthout was retired from Local #513 as an Operating Engineer. His hobby was refurbishing antique engines and he was a member of ILL-MO Tractor and Engine Club.
