Clara Theresa Durbin

Clara Theresa Durbin (nee Natta), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late James Durbin; cherished daughter of the late Edwardo and Stella Natta (nee Cuccia); devoted mother of James (the late Heidi) Durbin, Richard (Marty) Durbin, Robert (Mieke) Durbin, Daniel Durbin, Diana (Roger) Hooten, and Cynthia (Michael) D'Anna; loving grandmother, and great grandmother; dear sister of Rose LaGrand; treasured by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Clara was the love of her late husband’s life, James, who passed away in 2018. Together they raised their six children. They instilled values of honesty, integrity, and hard work, all wrapped up in a world of love and laughter they created for all to share. A devout Catholic, Clara never uttered a cross word other than “wait until your father comes home!” Throughout life, Clara enjoyed a close relationship with her fabulous sisters, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and an ever-increasing extended family. She held a special place in her heart for her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren (and counting), claiming each one was her favorite.

Clara dressed well and maintained a certain decorum throughout her long life. She was always kind, polite and respectful to everyone she met. To say she was loved by everyone does not do her justice. Her passing will always leave a hole in our hearts, but the love she has shown us all will live on.
