Christy was the daughter of Edward H and Helen H Boenker of Bridgeton, Missouri, and the mother of Arthur Edward McKay. She was the third child of ten children: Mary (Harold) Salmon, Jenny (late Jospeh) Turner, Mark (Mary Ann, Matthew (JoLynn), John (Wendy), the late Luke (Debbie), Rose (Bob) Frese, Anna (Don) Strong and Lucy (Larry) Smith.
She preceded in death by her husband Rick Elwell and Arthur McKay.
Christy graduated from Pattonville, H.S. and served in the US Army. She obtained her operating room technical degree and later obtaining her registered nursing degree from Forest Park. She enjoyed her 40 plus year career in labor and delivery, orthopedics, and operating room in many institutions.
Christy was an avid photographer, gardener and quite the barbecuer, but her chocolate chip cookies were the best! She was a friend to so many and never met a stranger. For all the siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, she will be dearly missed.
She died from pancreatic cancer and her body was given to Washington University. Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.
