Cheryl K. Gerdes

Cheryl K Gerdes (nee Schaber), of Weldon Spring, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the age of 64 after her battle with Cholangiocarcinoma. Cherished daughter of the late Fred and June Schaber; devoted mother of Dwight Agusta (Mallory) Gerdes, Devin Gerdes and Deidre (Vince) LaRosa; loving grandmother of Dwight "DJ" Gerdes, Ben Gerdes and Giovanni LaRosa; dear sister of the late Vince Schaber, Michelle (Herb) Tinger and Sheila Chittenden; beloved niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many; Cheryl is also survived by the loving father of her children, Dwight “DA” Gerdes;

Cheryl enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in her younger years. She loved spending time by her pool, tending to her garden, and working crossword puzzles.

Above all, Cheryl was devoted to her family. She cherished family meals and loved having everyone gathered at her home for every holiday. She had a special gift for making everything fun and meaningful, always making sure that family traditions were honored and lasting memories were created.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as Grandma Cher Cher. She was always ready for babysitting, pool time, playing, and making each moment special. Her grandchildren brought so much happiness to her life, and she treasured every moment she shared with them.

Cheryl was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her love, laughter, traditions, and beautiful memories will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
