LaBarge, Charles Walter "Charlie" was fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, September 14, 2008, with his sister, RoseAnn, at his hospital bedside. His second battle with cancer overtook him quickly. He was born September 26, 1945, in St. Charles, MO and resided on Main Street until he enlisted in the Marine Crops in 1962 to serve as a Combat Engineer in Vietnam. After serving three tours, he was honorably discharged in 1975 with a Unit Citation Cross of Gallantry with Palm and a Presidential Unit Citation. After returning to St. Charles, he owned a number of businesses; LaBarge Brothers Painting, LaBarge Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning, Charlie's Pub and Grill, LaBarge Properties and several others. He was preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Rose (Walker) LaBarge; his brothers, Leonard "Curly" LaBarge, Thomas LaBarge, Leroy Pritchard and sisters, Willine Pritchard, Pauline Herring, Shirley Brewner, Linda Lane and Louise House. Charlie had no children and is survived by his sister, RoseAnn LaBarge-Orton (Glenn); his nieces, Angie Potter (Kenny) and Vickie Owings (Ron); he had five grand-nieces and nephews. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a life member of VFW Post 2866, Marine Corp League, Lion's Club, and St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. Funeral Mass will be held September 19, 2008 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. His body will be interred at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at 315 North Main Street following the service.
