Charles E. Trent, 76, of St. Charles, Mo., passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at home. He was born Oct. 16, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, spending most of his youth in Tampa, Florida.
After being drafted into the Army in 1968 and honorably discharged, Charles started his nearly 54-year career in the airline industry on May 20, 1970, at Ozark Airlines, eventually working for Trans World Airlines, and finally retiring on Dec. 31, 2023, with American Airlines.
He married Linda on Sept. 16, 1972. After enjoying many fun times in Milwaukee, Wis. they settled down to St. Charles in 1978. He very much loved and took pride in his family, friends, work, Church, coin collecting, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Linda Trent, nee Dvorak, his daughter Carrie Ann Trent, his sister Portia Trent, sisters-in-law Laura Trent, Wendy Robbins, Rita Wickett (Dave), Lori Sandhoefner (Joedy), Connie Svendsen (Ron), Jane Lynn, and brothers-in-law Richard Dvorak, Terry Dvorak (Deb), Max Dvorak (Susan), Joseph Dvorak, Dale Dvorak (Julie), along with numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert C. Trent, his brothers, James Trent and Thomas Trent, his parents, James P.R. and Hilda Trent, mother-in-law Bernadette Dvorak and father-in-law Robert Dvorak, sister-in-law Alysia Dvorak, and brother-in-law Jeff Lynn.
His lifelong legacy of quiet kindness and generosity was continued as he gave his final gift to Mid-America Transplant.
