Charles Brendel

Brendel, Sr., Charles J. October 11, 1924 – June 22, 2010. Surrounded by family and friends, Charles passed into Our Father’s loving hands on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Loving husband of Florence (nee Thompson) for 62 years; devoted father of Barbara (David) Melchor, Charles (Kay) Brendel Jr., Tom (Kris) Brendel, Dan (Rita) Brendel and Timothy (Penny) Brendel; dear grandfather of 14; great-grandfather of 9; dear brother of Wilma Cusumano and Viola Tacchi; dear brother-in-law of Jeanette Brendel and Dutch (Jean) Thompson; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. He is preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. Charles was a proud WWII Army Veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars and Combat Infantry Badge and a lifelong member of the American Legion, Unit 341.
