Carolyn Lauer

Carolyn S. Lauer, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, November 30th, 2023, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of Don E. Lauer; cherished daughter of Stanley O. Witt and Celia Francis Witt; devoted mother of David “Kevin” Lauer, Susan Lauer, Dawn Lauer and Ryan Lauer; loving grandmother of Jordan (Courtney) Lauer; treasured great-grandmother of Emery Lauer and Noelani Lauer; dear sister of Ronald (Linda) Witt, Thomas (Judi) Witt and Steven Witt.

Every one of us is born with a gift. Something we excel at naturally. It’s up to us to find it and use it to honor God.

Carolyn’s gift was Servitude. She made a commitment to Jesus Christ very early in life and never wavered. She excelled at putting others before herself. It came naturally, but she honed this skill over an incredible lifetime.

She married her high school sweetheart Don, and spent 64 beautiful years with him. Loving their 4 children, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters more than life itself.

She served God and her church by teaching Bible studies, Sunday School, & hosting Prayer Warrior Chains.

She was the American Legion Post 312 Women’s Auxiliary Chaplain. She worked the Friday Fish Fry’s, Bingo, Spaghetti Suppers & many more events. Always with a smile.

Carolyn had this knack for knowing when someone needed a listening ear. She could sit with you, listen to your troubles, and console you in a way that nourished your soul.

In a world where being tough is encouraged, she was tender.

When it’s easy to be coarse, she was kind. 

When most seek fame & fortune, she built faith.

She chose goodness over greed, virtue over vanity, & purity over popularity.

Choosing to be a woman of God when most choose the world.
