Caroline Ruth Sturgeon (nee Ray), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Jerry Sturgeon; cherished daughter of the late Emery and Viola Ray; devoted mother of Sharon (Kevin) Downes; loving grandmother of John (Abby) Downes, Ashley (fiancé Matt) Downes; great-grandmother of Hudson and Rory Downes; beloved sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many.
Caroline enjoyed playing sports most of her life. She retired a little over 10 years ago after a successful banking career. Her greatest joy in her life was her grandchildren.
Caroline was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Caroline's name to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
