Carolee Schuster Goddard

Born in St. Louis, MO, Dec 6, 1921, to Leslie Hyatt and Mary Cleveland (nee Ball) Schuster. She had two brothers, William Leslie, and Charles Allen. Grandmother, Caroline Dyer Ball, and Aunt, Grace Ball, shared their lives with the family. She was baptized at Compton Hill Congregational Church, St. Louis and attended summer school and church there. She met Albert Arthur Goddard at church in 1930 and married June 28, 1941. There were no children born to this union. Art preceded her in Death June 24, 1994, Mt. Vernon, MO. She enjoyed a happy healthy life with her family and Art’s Goddard and Coleman’s family and loved them dearly. She was an outgoing person who loved doing for everyone. She was a member of several organizations holding all offices:

Polar Star chapter 134, OES (Order of the Eastern Star)

St. Louis, MO (1949), W.M. 1964, Galena chapter #7, Galena Missouri OES W.M. 1986, Grand chapter of Missouri OES 1992, 50-year certificate and pin presented at reception, Galena chapter 1999, and 75-year certificate and pin received in 2024 national association of railway businesswomen – joined St, louis chapter in 1956 and Pres. 1965-66, transferred to Springfield, MO 1978.

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Kimberley City, MO – served as clerk of sessions for several years

John Taylor senior center, Mt. Vernon, MO, she and Ruth Toby delivered MEALS ON WHEELS every day for a year and enjoyed the affiliation

She was preceded in death by husband, Art Goddard, her parents, Leslie and Mary, stepfather, Fred E. Yelton, aunt Grace Ball, two brothers, William Leslie and Charles Allen, and nephew Robert Leslie Schuster, Grandma Caroline (Dyer) Ball.

Memorials may be made in Carolee's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
