Carol Jean Rabbitt

Carol Jean Rabbitt (nee Crain), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Edward D. Rabbitt; cherished daughter of the late Frank and Frances Crain; devoted mother of Mary Beth (Dan) Mueller, Barbara (Gary) Crowder, Leon (Sally) Burkemper, Tricia (Casey) Henry, Jesse (Lisa) Burkemper; loving grandmother of 12; treasured great-grandmother of 10 and extended grand and great-grandchildren from the Rabbitt family; dear sister of Patricia Merz and four brothers who preceded her in death, Frank Crain, Bobby Crain, John Crain, and Jimmy Crain.

A deeply devoted catholic, she was parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for over 25 years, where she faithfully participated in many church activities. Carol enjoyed spending time at the Wentzville Senior Center and was very active with Wentzville Parks and Recreation and the Extension Club. She was very involved in 4-H when her children were young, teaching and guiding countless projects. Carol had a true gift for crafting—she loved decorating cakes and crocheting. Her craft room was fully stocked with anything you could imagine. She worked for over 20 years at JCPenney, where her detail-oriented and organized nature made her well suited, and she genuinely enjoyed her work. Carol treasured caring for her family, and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren. She and Ed enjoyed traveling to many of his Military Events. Carol was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Carol's name to American Red Cross or the Wentzville Senior Center.
