Carol Sue Oehler

Carol Sue (Anderson) Oehler, affectionately known as Sue, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on January 11, 1949, at home in Iron Mountain, Missouri, to William Jasper “Jack” Anderson and Dorothy Louise “Dot” Anderson.

Sue was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Charles Edward Oehler. Together, they shared over 55 years of marriage filled with devotion and love. She was a cherished mother to her daughter, Cheri Oliver; a dear sister to Brenda Dale (Anderson) Malone and to her loving brother Eric Bruce Anderson and his wife, Rhonda; and a loving aunt to their son, Bradley Anderson. Sue was an animal lover and leaves behind their cat, Ellie.

A lifelong educator, Sue taught for more than 30 years, most recently in the City of St. Charles School District, where she taught fifth grade and gifted education. She was passionate about nurturing her students and dedicated herself to helping each child reach their fullest potential.

Her life was enriched by many experiences, including time spent overseas when Charles served in the Air Force. Together they lived in Okinawa and other postings, and later enjoyed time in New Mexico, where they loved hiking in the mountains and sharing Mexican dinners. Sue also had a love for horticulture, often planning new plantings with Charles in their St. Charles home of over 45 years. In her free time, she enjoyed music, reading, and above all, spending time with her husband and daughter.

Sue will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and kindness. She never met a stranger, always making those around her feel valued. Whether providing for students in need or preparing meals for friends and colleagues, her giving spirit touched countless lives.

Visitation will be held at Baue Funeral Home St Charles, Jefferson Street, St. Charles, MO 63301 on Saturday, August 23, from 12:00–1:30 p.m., followed by a service and interment at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
