Carol "Nicki" Luikaart

Carol “Nicki” Luikaart (nee Zowal), of Apollo Beach, FL, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at the age of 78. Loving wife of the late William Rowland Luikaart, Jr.; beloved daughter of the late Henry and Lottie Zowal; and the late Harriet Jasudowicz; devoted mother of Reed (Stacey) Luikaart and Jill (Nate) Smith; treasured grandmother of Lilly Smith, Cody (Leah) and Caleb Cummings; treasured great-grandmother of Noah, Kora, and Maci; dear sister of Patti (Rich) Kalesz and Anita (Bill) Steinkemper; sister-in-law of Nancy Luikaart.

Nicki touched the lives of everyone who knew her. A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. The bond between Nicki and her granddaughter Lilly was one of extraordinary strength. It was a true reflection of endearment, guidance and unwavering support.

Nicki was a dedicated retired librarian with the Wentzville School District and Public Library. It was here where she made her mark and instilled the joy of reading to countless people of all ages. She found happiness in lake life, boating, book clubs, traveling with her friends and daily phone conversations with her beautiful sisters. In her final years, Nicki found her happy place in Florida sitting on her lanai with friends and family where she declared “I wake up everyday and I am on vacation.”

Nicki’s loyal friendship was a gift she shared freely with everyone around her . Her smile not only brightened the room, it warmed hearts and lifted spirits. Nicki had a vibrant spirit and infused every moment with laughter, grace and timeless style. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Nicki's name to American Bladder Cancer Society.
