Carol Jean Crawford (Eakins), of Berkeley, MO, formerly of Advance, MO fell asleep in death on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the age of 78 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Carol was born in her parent's home Thursday, October 11, 1945, at 1:00 PM near Advance, MO in Rural Cape County, MO to the late George "Lee" and Bertha Mae (Miller) Eakins. Carol attended Run Branch school for the first three years, then fourth through the twelfth grade she attended Advance, MO, High School. Carol spoke often with great affection about her parents and her upbringing on her parents' farm.

Carol is survived by her current husband Ray Crawford, of Berkeley, MO, married on April 5, 2003, and had just celebrated 21 years of marriage. Her two daughters from previous marriage, Monica (Dennis) Kistner Jr., of Troy, MO, and Brandi (Scott) Shrum of, Granite City, IL. Stepdaughter, Chrissi (Tim) Conroy of Florissant, MO. Her grandchildren that she absolutely adored; Tanner Kistner, Angelina Bowers, Joshua Conroy, Katlynn Shrum, Allison Shrum, and Tyler Shrum. Carol also had a large loving spiritual family that she loved. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Carol is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, James Benton Eakins and Mary Medd Jane Retig Eakins, her maternal grandparents, William Miller, and Cordelia Brandon Miller George. Her parents, George "Lee" and Bertha Mae (Miller) Eakins; three brothers, James Lloyd Eakins, Benjamin (Ben) Joseph Eakins and infant brother unnamed. Four sisters, Virgie Nada Lee (Eakins) Smith, Mildred Mae (Eakins) Cox, Mary Irene (Eakins) Cox, Lyndia Faye (Eakins) Croy, and a beloved nephew Harold Lee Smith and a beautiful niece Barbara Lynn Cox.

Memorials may be made in Carol's name to the Alzheimer's Association.

A visitation will be held at Baue Funeral Home Thursday, June 27th from 4:30 – 7pm, and a private burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
