Carol J. Bell-Clark (nee Schmittel), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Bell and her 2nd husband, the late Delbert "Junior" L. Clark; cherished daughter of the late William, Jr. and Eleanor Schmittel; devoted mother of Susan (Todd) JAcober and Thomas (Julie) Bell and Junior's children, Janice (the late Jay) Tims and Brad (Lori) Clark; loving grandmother of Jordyn Bell, Nathan (Amanda) Jacober, Elaina Bell, Isaac Jacober, Jackson Bell, Macie Bell, Bailey Tims, Brantley Clark, Allie (Sean) Farrell, Madison Clark and the late Caden Tims; treasured great-grandmother of Rhett Tims, Vivienne Tims and Cooper Farrell; dear sister of James (Joan) Schmittel and Sandra (Nick) Giannakis; sister-in-law of Art (Linda) Bell and Patty (Kevin) O'Donnell; beloved aunt, cousin and friend to many. 

Carol found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments, boating on the Mississippi River, tending to her garden, volunteering at church, and, above all, spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every opportunity to be with those she loved, including the loyal companionship of her beloved pets.

She had a quiet disposition, yet she was always eager to share her faith journey with others. A thoughtful listener and a source of comfort, Carol was known for her warm hugs and her genuine care for everyone she met. Her loving and generous spirit left a lasting impact on family and friends alike.

Carol possessed a sweet soul and a beautiful smile that brightened the lives of those around her. Her deep faith sustained her through life's hardships, including the loss of two husbands and her courageous battle with cancer.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carol's name to Dardenne Presbyterian Church.
