Carmen Ana Velilla (nee Rivera), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at the age of 77. Beloved wife of the late Juan Velilla, Jr.; devoted mother of Nelson DeJesus, Annette DeJesus, Sandra (Edwin) Velilla, Diane Velilla, Juanita Velilla, Sandra (Jose Valladares) Mangal, Pedro Jose Cruz, Isabel (David) Hennrich and Pedro Luis Cruz; loving grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin to many.
Known for her giving nature and occasional feistiness, Carmen's presence left a mark on the lives of those around her. She cherished her role as a doting grandmother, showering her grandchildren with love and affection, creating cherished memories that will forever linger in their hearts. Carmen was a great cook and her kitchen was a haven of delightful aromas and flavors. Her excellent cooking skills brought joy to countless family gatherings.
A passionate fan of music, audiobooks and Cardinals games, Carmen found solace and joy in these simple pleasures. Whether cheering for her favorite team or immersing herself in the beauty of melodies, she embraced the richness of life's experiences. Carmen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Carmen's name to St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
