Carla Wicklein Metz

Carla Ann Metz (nee Wicklein), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 72. Beloved daughter of the late John Edward and Marian Ruth Wicklein; devoted mother of Erin Metz; dear sister of David Lawrence (Linda) Wicklein; and is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Carla is also preceded in death by her sister, Lynda Ruth Wicklein.

Carla earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Central Methodist College and her bachelor’s from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She dedicated nearly 40 years to caring for newborns as a skilled and compassionate Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. A lifelong animal advocate, she loved pet sitting, beach trips, county fairs, and was a proud member of the Missouri Botanical Gardens. A true social butterfly, Carla never met a stranger. She was active in Bible studies at Harmonies Church in Wright City and took pride in contributing to pancreatic cancer research during her four-year battle with the disease. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
