Bob L. Bates

Bob L. Bates, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Eunice Bates; cherished son of the late Edwin and Edna Bates; devoted father of Cheryl (Mike) Fiorini and the late Robert Mark Bates; loving grandfather of Shelly (Brett) Brownlee, Jeff (Laci) Schulze, and Zachary Bates; dear great grandfather of Kendree and Tessa: dear brother of the late Ted Bates, the late John Bates, and the late Shirley Douglas.

Bob proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Local 610 and the American Legion Post 556. For more than 70 wonderful years, Bob shared his life with his beloved wife, Eunice. Together, they created a lifetime of memories, traveling with dear friends Ellen and Earl Hanley, and Dave and Sue Stump. His greatest joy came from time spent with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making lasting memories. A devout member of O’Fallon Christian Church for over 50 years, Bob served faithfully as an elder and head usher. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, taking his adventures as far as Alaska, Colorado and many other areas for game. Bob will be remembered for his kind heart, great generosity, and his devotion to faith and family. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
