Betty J. Jones

Betty J. Jones (nee Garrison) of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late James C. Jones; dear friend of the Liebe family; and surrogate mom to Marcia Meyer, Deborah Sclar, and David Brownell.  

Affectionately known as ‘Gramma’, Betty was loved by everyone who knew her. She was always generous with her time, her thoughts, and her love. If you needed anything at any time, she would do all that was within her power to ease your burden or to help with your cares and concerns. As one of her friends said:   

The greatest woman I know has unconditional love.  

A big heart and never turns you away when you need a hug. 

The greatest woman I know always has time to listen to you. 

And helps to mend your broken heart.  

The greatest woman I know is Betty Jones. 

Betty was a long-time employee of the Liebe Athletic Lettering Company where she quickly became part of a large family of friends and co-workers. The Liebe family embraced Betty and cared for her like she was one of their own.  

Betty was a woman of strong faith. She belonged to the First Freewill Baptist Church where she became part of an extended church family.  

Betty enjoyed reading or listening to the Bible, gardening, knitting, spending time with her adorable dog, Holly, and, talking to or being visited by her loved ones. Betty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.  

Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to the St. Charles Heart Association.
