Betty Lavora East, 93, passed away Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at the Barnes Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri.
A resident of St. Peters since 1985, Betty Lavora East was born on November 29, 1931, in Viola, Arkansas, and came from a family with 11 children. Lavora met her husband of 45 years, Gilbert, at a café in Dixie, Arkansas. They were married on December 30, 1951.
Lavora and Gilbert had two children together. Lavora was dedicated to her family while having a career in the workplace.
In retirement, Lavora and Gilbert enjoyed their weekend travels to their lake home at the Lake of the Ozarks, their regular family visits with their daughter and family in St. Charles, Missouri and their visits with their son in Colleyville outside of Dallas, Texas. Lavora enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially around the holidays and during special family events. She was an avid gardener producing a beautiful flower garden annually and ensuring her three-acre yard was perfectly manicured.
Lavora was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, and one brother and eight sisters.
She is survived by her immediate family: son, Danny East of Dallas, TX, daughter, Terri Hefferon of St. Charles, MO., by her granddaughter Kelly (Hefferon) Capps, and three great grandchildren Kainan, Kai and AnneRae Capps of Kansas City, MO, and her grandson Brad Hefferon of O’Fallon, MO, and her great grandchildren Olivia and Brookes Hefferon. She is also survived by her brother Robert Brown, of Viola, AR., and sister Colene Thompson, of Paragould, AR.
