Bernice I. Buenemann

Bernice Irene Buenemann (nee Kolkmeyer) of St. Charles, Missouri, on Thursday January 4, 2018, at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Herbert O. Buenemann; cherished daughter of the late Otto and Irene Kolkmeyer; devoted mother of Donald L. Buenemann, Ronald D. (Laurie) Buenemann, Richard L. (Patricia) Buenemann, Mark A. (Sally) Buenemann, Loren C. (Rhonda) Buenemann, and Sondra K. (Rick) Hamm and the late Gail Johnson; loving grandmother of Matthew (Stacey), Ryan (Trisha), Jordan, Jennifer (Kevin), Jeff (Joy), Jared (Emily), Jessica (Brandon), Jeremy (Jessica), Crystal, Cherie (Andrew), Kendall (Levi), Austin (Molly), Joshua, Jordin, Derek, and Kurt; treasured great-grandmother of 21 and one on the way; dear sister of Dolores Owens. She is preceded in death by her sister Adelle Bargen and brother Orville Kolkmeyer.

Bernice was a longtime member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ and Frieden’s Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Merrie-Mates Club. Bernice had a large vegetable garden in her back yard and had many long-time customers. She also enjoyed her job at St. Charles Speedway. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren and spent many hours at sporting events and church softball games. She spent the last seven years of her life in Barathaven Nursing Facility and was loved by all her caretakers and residents. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
