Bernard “Benny” Fischer

Bernard "Benny" Fischer, Jr. of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 93. He was the loving husband of the late Lucille A. Fischer (nee: Simon); Best father ever of Mary Jo Fischer (Read), Nancy (John) Netsch, Paul Fischer (Cindy), Carol Johnson, Judy (Frank) Preli, and Ben (Rhonda) Fischer; cherished grandfather of Gina, Jenny and Nick Preli, Danielle and Emily Johnson, and Jordan, Bailey and Melaina Fischer; treasured great-grandfather of Lillian Lucille; dear brother-in-law of Rose Marie Leonhard, Virginia (Dennis) Schaeffer, Helen Ohlms, and Janet Simon; He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Magdalena Fischer Sr., and by his brothers Aloysious "Ollie" and Eugene Fischer, and his sisters Frances Fischer, Phil Thomure, Agnes Besselman, Marie Schroeder, and Martha Boschert. He left behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was a life-time member of St. Peters Church where he devoted many hours of service and hated having to miss mass the last few weeks. He belonged to Knights of Columbus and enjoyed the Wednesday Senior lunches and pinochle when he wasn't too busy with farming. He also enjoyed visiting the elderly and sick and taking his produce to town. He devoted his whole life to his family and his farm. He was born on that farm and said he never wanted to leave there.
