Benjamin W. Owens, PhD

Benjamin W. Owens, PhD. of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the age of 76. Cherished son of the late Benjamin W. and Marian D. Owens; dear brother of Wynne (Connie) Wiegner; treasured uncle of Amy (Nicholas) Shaheen, Julie (Patrick) Finnegan, Suzanne Wiegner, and Christopher (Carrie) Wiegner; great-uncle of Erin Finnegan, Timothy Finnegan, Sean Finnegan, Olivia Shaheen, Daniel Newman, James Shaheen, Jack Finnegan, Thomas Newman, Flynn Wiegner, Joseph Shaheen, Molly Newman, Brenna Wiegner, and Ryan Wiegner.  

Ben was born in St. Louis MO. He attended Seminary in Wisconsin and served as a Redemptorist priest for many years. However, his greatest passion was teaching. He retired from Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley CA in 2021. Prior to The Priory, he taught at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland CA. In retirement, he moved to Missouri where he was born and spent his early life. He loved living at The Watermark of St. Peters, just a couple of miles away from his brother, Wynne, and his family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
