Barbara Jean (Blanton) Nesslage, 82, of Weldon Spring, Missouri was born December 1, 1943, in Goose Pond Hill, Bollinger County, Missouri to the late William G. and Rita M. (Speer) Blanton, and died September 23, 2026.

Barbara was a 1961 graduate of Francis Howell High School.

On August 10, 1963, she married Larry D. Nesslage in St. Charles, MO. Her parents & her brother Russell precede her in death.

She is survived by her husband Larry, daughter Kimberly (Vince) Gehrin of O’Fallon, MO and son Kelly (Malina Hollis) Nesslage of Weldon Spring, MO. She was Mimi to her grandchildren Jeremy (Megan) Gehrin of Wentzville, MO, Danielle (Nathan) Moeslein of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Johanna Gehrin of St. Charles, MO, Elijah Gehrin currently serving in the US ARMY, and Abigail Hollis of Cottleville, MO; eight great-grandchildren, Kylie Gehrin, Mason, Keaton & Ryker Moeslein, Aubree Hollis, Alexis & Christopher Karkut, and Natalie Hackmann. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Janice (Jim) Bollinger of Marble Hill, MO, Debbie (Tom) Nall of Cape Girardeau, MO & Marybeth Blanton of Wood River, IL.

Barbara was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Weldon Spring, Missouri. She worked for ACF Industries in historic downtown St. Charles, Missouri for 25 years before retiring in 1998.

Barbara’s life reflected a steady devotion to faith and learning, a selfless love for her family and enduring grace. She had a smile that would light up a room and a sweet approachable personality and calmness that anyone who knew her loved to experience and share a space with her. Throughout her years, she loved antiquing, gardening, painting, crafting, and caring for her children and grandchildren along with many beloved pets. She leaves behind treasured memories, a legacy of love, and a family forever grateful for the example she set. Though she will be deeply missed, her influence and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Weldon Spring, MO, on Tuesday, December 22, 2026 at 11:00am with a visitation one hour prior to service.

In accordance with her wishes, Barbara generously gifted her body to science to advance medical education and research.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or charity of your choosing.
