Barbara Carol Landreth passed away May 31, 2026, in O'Fallon, Missouri.
She was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 6, 1933, to Thomas "Tip" Thacker and Muriel Thacker.
Barbara married Edward Landreth in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 28, 1951. Barbara and Edward moved to St. Charles, Missouri in 1956.
Barbara enrolled in college in 1968, receiving her degree in Elementary Education and later a master’s degree in library science from Lindenwood University and UMSL. She was active in the Lindenwood Alumni Association and Bogey Hills Country Club.
Barbara retired from the Francis Howell school system where she worked for 25 years. She retired as a Librarian at Becky-David Elementary School.
During her career and into retirement she and Edward enjoyed traveling and seeing the world.
Trips include Europe, China, Hawaii, Alaska, along with traveling around the United States.
She is preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Edward, husband Edward and son Dale. After Edward's passing in July of 2016, Barbara moved to The Meadowlands Assisted Living in O'Fallon, Missouri.
She is survived by her son, Alan (wife Lynne) of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Two grandchildren, Edward Landreth (wife Kimberly) and Carolyn Holcomb (husband Jeremy), along with six great grandchildren, Camden Landreth, Coy Landreth, Janson Holcomb, Addie Holcomb, Emma Holcomb, and James Holcomb who will mourn her passing.
Memorials may be made in Barb's name to an organization of the donor’s choice.
