Barbara Giesler

September 17, 1938 — April 1, 2025

St. Charles, Missouri

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara, who left this world on April 1st, 2025 at the age of 86 in O’Fallon MO at her home, after a battle with cancer. She was a woman of incredible strength, kindness, and unwavering love, whose greatest joy in life was caring for those she cherished.

Barbara had a passion for gardening, and her home was always surrounded by the beauty of the flowers and plants she so lovingly nurtured. She found peace among the petals and joy in the labor of tending to her yard. She had a sweet tooth that was unmatched, never passing up a treat, and she firmly believed that dessert was the best part of any meal.

She found comfort in the simple joys of life—watching her favorite TV shows, sharing laughs with her family, and creating a home filled with love. But above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother roles she embraced with all her heart. She selflessly raised her two grandchildren, offering them warmth, guidance, and unconditional love.

To her granddaughter Sara, she was more than a grandmother— she was a guiding light, a steady hand, and a role model. She stepped into the role of both nurturer and protector, raising Sara with a heart full of selflessness and devotion. She celebrated Sara’s successes, lifted her in her struggles, and never let her forget how deeply loved she was. Her presence was a constant source of comfort, her wisdom a guiding force, and her love an unbreakable bond that will continue to live on in their hearts.

Barbara graduated from the Jewish Hospital Nurses Training (Barnes Jewish Hospital) and worked as an occupational nurse for nearly 30 years at Boeing (McDonnell Douglas).

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (husband, Doug) Bunting, grandchildren Thomas, Timothy, Sara (husband, Brandon Kochmann), Jacob, and great grandchildren Sophia, Crew and Colson - along with the many lives she touched with her kindness and grace. Though she is no longer with us, her love will continue to bloom in our hearts, just like the yard she so carefully tended to.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something in her memory or share a sweet treat with someone you love.

Rest easy, Grandma. Your love will forever be our guiding light.
